Elephants are extremely large mammals which are found in many parts of the world, although they are broadly categorized as the African elephant and Asian elephant as they are mostly found in these two continents. At one point of time in this world, there were other families of elephants including mammoths and mastodons. These are very useful animals with their teeth involved in the manufacture of tusks, serving as weapons and tools for objects and digging.

The elephants are in possession of large ear flaps which enable their body to help control the body temperature. Generally, African elephants are in possession of larger ears while the elephants belonging to Asian families have smaller ears. The Elephants are generally herbivorous and thus are mostly found in habitats which include savannahs, deserts, forests, and marshes, although the places which have water are most likely the places where elephants will be attracted to. This animal has a long life and has the ability to live up to over 70 years. It is sad to say that this harmless animal is considered endangered, more specifically the Asian family of the elephants is now placed in the endangered category.

The young baby elephants are the cutest of animals which are found in this planet. Although they are heavier and larger than many other animals which are found here, they still are liked by everybody. The fact that everyone likes a baby elephant can be verified by looking at several pictures of them. Their good looks are also the reason that their characters are shown in many animated movies which are liked by children. There harmless character derives sympathy and love for them by everyone who sees them, especially the babies.
